Myanmar's Tale of Tears🥺❤️‍🩹

Image
As soon as I heard about the earthquake in Myanmar, my heart skipped a beat. On March 28th, there was a huge tremor of 7.7 on the Richter scale, and then many small tremors followed. I can't even imagine how many people died and how many houses were destroyed. When I heard that more than 1,600 people had died and more than 3,400 were injured in Myanmar, tears came to my eyes. Hearing that a building under construction collapsed in Bangkok, killing 17 and leaving 83 missing, added to my sorrow. Watching on TV how hard the rescue teams are working to save the people trapped under the rubble makes me very sad. I express my heartfelt condolences to the people affected by this disaster. I pray that they recover quickly. In a time like this, the whole world should come together to help. It's a good thing that the Myanmar government has also asked for help. Since hearing this news, I've felt very sad. I can imagine how much the affected people are suffering. My heart aches when I...

An Enduring Tale of Childhood Adventure

Image
A truly delightful book that I read during my school days was Martin Wickramasinghe's immortal novel, 'Madol Doova.' Considered one of Wickramasinghe's greatest creations, it has captured the hearts of both children and adults alike. 'Madol Doova' revolves around three young friends: Upali, Jinna, and Siripala. Their courage, thrilling adventures, and their strong friendship are what make 'Madol Doova' so appealing to readers. Upali, the protagonist, is the son of the village headman. He, along with his friends Jinna and Siripala, dreams of escaping their village life. Their journey begins when they arrive at a deserted island called Madol Doova. This island opens a new chapter in their lives. One of the most remarkable aspects of 'Madol Doova' is its character portrayal. Upali's character is filled with qualities like bravery, leadership, and friendship. Jinna's character is depicted as a clever, courageous, and loyal friend. Siripala...

Sister's Dream Business 🪡👜👗👕

Image
My sister and I are like best friends. My sister has an amazing talent, which she inherited from our mother. She can take a piece of yarn, twist it with a crochet hook, and create beautiful bags and clothes. My sister's creations are so beautiful and very special. She has unique design patterns that no one else has. I'm very proud of my sister's talent. "Sister, you could start a great business with this, right?" I asked one day. My sister smiled and said, "I do this for my own joy, little sister. But you're right, if I started a small business, many people could experience these beautiful creations." So, from that day on, my sister started selling her creations. Initially, her customers were friends and relatives. As the beauty of my sister's bags and clothes spread, her business gradually became popular. She posted pictures of her creations on Instagram and Facebook, and many people came to buy bags and clothes from her. My sister's desig...

Let's protect ourselves from dengue

Image
Dengue fever is not a new phenomenon in our country. Every year, this disease seems to engulf our society. We've heard countless awareness campaigns under the theme "Protect Ourselves from Dengue." But, how much attention do we truly pay to this? Today, I'm participating in this meeting to discuss in detail the breeding grounds of dengue mosquitoes and the measures we should take to protect ourselves. I want to remind everyone that any place where water collects, such as coconut shells, tires, and flower pots, is a suitable breeding ground for mosquitoes. I also want to emphasize the importance of keeping water tanks, drains, and similar areas clean. I'd also like to mention the use of mosquito nets, mosquito repellents, and seeking immediate medical attention if symptoms like fever and headaches appear. While these are essential measures, the question remains: to what extent do we incorporate them into our daily lives? This is a responsibility that falls on a...

The night

Image
Night is the time when nature and humans rest, escaping the busyness of the day. As the sun sets, the sky darkens, and stars and the moon appear. A sense of stillness spreads across the world. For many, night is a time for rest and sleep. People who have worked hard during the day go to their homes and spend the night relaxing. Birds silently sleep in the trees, and animals rest in their habitats. Night is a suitable time for some to be creative. Writers, artists, and musicians create their works in the stillness of the night. The quiet of the night aids their creativity. Night can be a frightening time for some. Some are afraid of the darkness. Sounds heard at night can create fear in some people's minds. Night is full of natural beauty. The starry sky and moonlight make the night beautiful. Looking at the night sky brings peace to the mind. The beauty of nature can be best experienced in the quiet of the night.
